that we pay competitively.
Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
We offer our employees one of the best comprehensive, self-insured medical, dental, and
vision plans offered anywhere. Employees can elect single and/or dependent
coverage. Our medical plan includes a prescription drug program. Employees
can choose either PPO or non-PPO providers. Our dental plan covers
diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and orthodontic services, and our
vision plan program covers exams, glasses, and/or contact lenses. With our
flexible spending plan, employees pay premiums pre-tax and can also set
aside pre-tax dollars to cover out-of-pocket health-related expenses.
Profit Sharing Plan with 401(k)
Eligible employees automatically become participants in our profit sharing plan that includes an optional 401(k) feature. The Company may make a discretionary contribution with employees becoming fully vested after six years of service. With the 401(k) feature eligible employees can make a pre-tax contribution of up to 25% of their compensation. Employees have a number of investment choices available.
We provide employees with paid personal time off to cover absences due to illness, emergency, weather, or other personal matters. Employees become eligible for personal time after three months of employment. Full-time employees earn six hours per month for a total of nine days in a calendar year. Personal time not used is never lost! At the end of the year employees can carry over up to 160 hours, with any amount over the allowed carry over paid out annually.
Employees are eligible for vacation after three months of employment and every calendar year thereafter. Vacation time is earned based on years of service. Prior to one year of service, vacation time is pro-rated. After one year of service, full-time employees are eligible for two weeks of vacation time. Thereafter, it increases on a biannual basis up to a maximum of four weeks. Like personal time, at the end of year employees can carry over up to 160 hours of vacation time, with any amount over the allowed carry over paid out annually.
We provide eight days off in observance of holidays.
We recognize that the skills and knowledge of our employees are critical to the
success of the organization. The Educational Assistance Program encourages personal development
through formal education so that employees can maintain and improve job-related skills or enhance
their ability to compete for reasonably attainable jobs within the Company. We offer up to a maximum
of $5250 annually to cover educational expenses. This includes tuition, fees and required books. We
also pay the cost for employees to attend seminars and other job-related meetings.
We provide a long-term disability (LTD) benefit plan to help eligible employees
cope with an illness or injury that results in a long-term absence from
employment. LTD insurance is designed to ensure a continuing income for
employees who are disabled and unable to work. Group long-term disability
insurance protection is fully paid by Associated Bag Company. The amount of
insurance coverage is 60% of the base pay up to a maximum of $3,000 per
Voluntary Short-Term Disability
We offer employees the opportunity to enroll in affordable short-term disability (STD) coverage for events that require less time off or until LTD begins. STD covers events such as illness, injury, surgery, pregnancy and delivery, etc. Employees pay premium deductions post-tax for a tax free benefit of 60% of base pay up to $1,000 weekly.
Life Insurance and AD&D
We provide a basic life insurance plan for all eligible employees. The basic
life insurance plan includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
insurance that provides protection in cases of serious injury or death
resulting from an accident. Life and AD&D insurance protection for full-time
employees is fully paid by Associated Bag Company. The amount of insurance
coverage is one times the base salary.
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)
At Associated Bag Company, we know our employees' sense of well-being directly
affects the way they perform their job and the satisfaction they gain from
it. Our Employee Assistance Program is designed to help employees solve any
number of problems they may be facing. This confidential program is
available to employees and their family members at no charge. Through the EAP, employees
and family members receive professional consultation and
assessment that can help resolve issues involving stress, personal and
family difficulties, and legal and financial concerns.
